Changes to trade mark application processing timeframes IPONZ

IPONZ has recently adjusted their expected response timeframes for national trade mark applications. The updated expected response timeframes are as follows.

 

Nature of Correspondence	Previous timeframe	New timeframes
Initial response to filing of new trade mark application	Within 15 working days of application filing	Within 70 working days of application filing
Re-examination of trade mark application following a response to a compliance report	Within 25 working days of response	Within 35 working days of response

Mary Potter Hospice Strawberry Fest

Zone recently supported Mary Potter Hospice by purchasing delicious strawberry sundaes as part of their annual Strawberry Festival fundraiser. The volunteer-based organisation raised over $100,000 to help provide free-of-charge hospice care and palliative care services to those in our communities that need it.

 

Auckland and Wellington City Mission

We have acknowledged our valued relationships with our colleagues and clients by donating our corporate gifts budget to Wellington and Auckland City Mission again this year. City Missions help our communities in numerous ways especially around this time of year by providing Christmas Hampers, a free Toy Store and Social supports for those in need. We are delighted to donate, and we trust you will support us in supporting the families in our community. 

 

Christmas and Summer Closures

Our Auckland and Wellington Offices will close for Christmas/Summer holidays from 5pm Friday 20 December 2024. We will have skeleton crew between 20-24 December 2024 and from Thursday, 2 January 2025 for urgent IP filings or matters. Our offices will reopen fully on Monday, 13 January 2025

 

The Intellectual Property Office of New Zealand will be closed from Wednesday 25 December 2024 and reopen on Friday, 3 January 2025 and IP Australia will be closed from Wednesday, 25 December 2024 and reopen on Thursday 02 January 2025.

 

Applications and documents submitted between these dates will have the next working day as their filing date. If the deadline for filing an application or document falls on these dates, then the deadline will shift to the next working day.
